Keep On Keepin’ On

March 16th, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Uncategorized |

You know its not good when you start every post with ” I can’t believe its been so long since I have posted !”   I don’t know how you ladies find the time and material to post so often !!!    I have been working alot lately and not getting sleep.  But the end is near, our first migration is this weekend.  The idea is that I will do the first one and the guys on my team will pick up the rest of them. We’ll see how that goes.   I still haven’t submitted my Grad School app.  I got word the other day that my boss finished my recommendation so its just on me to upload the essays, shell out $185 for the application fee and hit send.   Tomorrow sounds good.   I got home just in time to kiss the kids goodnight tonight and promise them that I will play with them tomorrow, so maybe I’ll submit the app on Wednesday.   Wednesday is the go-live date for data at the new data center so I will be busy with that all night so maybe Thursday.  Thursday it is or well Thursday it has to be since Friday I’ll be preparing for the Saturday migrations and Sunday I’ll be recovering.

Anyway, we went to Louisville this weekend for a birthday party.  I successfully managed to not pig out completely.  I was playing the mental game of the enjoying the fact that I could eat another sandwich and I wanted to eat another sandwich, but I’m not going to because I’m in control.  I also did the trick of not grabbing the whole bag of potato chips and sitting in front of  the TV with them, I just put some on a plate and stopped after I ate them. Ok, I stopped after I ate two plates :) .  As of this morning I’m down a total of 34lbs since we started.

Ok so time for the big announcement. I have decided that I am never going to weigh 300lbs or more again.  Its funny most people have never come close to weighing that much and can’t even imagine how it could difficult to not weigh 300lbs.  I guess its like me not having any idea what its like not to be able to keep weight on.

I remember it was senior year in college during the football season that I first weighed 300.  I was very excited to be able to weigh that much and the weight helped me do well at my position (offensive line).   After football was over, I never really tried to lose weight seriously until after the kids were born and I was up around 330.  I got down to 270 and proceeded to gain it all back peaking this fall somewhere just above 330 ( the Wii and the weight watchers scale dont’ go past that).  I was 327 when we started shrinking jeans.  Now I’m down to 293.  I’m excited to see the 280s again, hopefully in the next week it or too !

Below you can see my progress on the wii fit.  The big gap with no weight between September and November was because I weighed too much for it register :( . But you can see what has happened since we started this blog in November !!
